With the primary goal of designing a functional, modern, and impressive space, we composed the architectural study for the pharmacy of Mr. Karanzalos on Mesogion Avenue, in Athens.
The hidden difficulties of the space were quickly smoothed out with significant interventions in its function. Illuminated shelves were placed around the perimeter of the store for displaying the products by categories. The service bench in a modern design, custom made for the needs of the specific space, dominates in the center of the room, and opposed to the entry point. The materials selected give a fresh mood, with green, and black as dominate colors, while the use of wood warms and balances the general image. Simultaneously, the specially designed lighting exposes every part of the pharmacy, providing an intimate atmosphere.
The study is completed with the facade of the pharmacy, by providing the opportunity to the store to secure a focal point in the center of the local market. The sign in the corresponding colors as the interior causes a pleasant surprise. The extroversion of the pharmacy is enhanced by using transparency that allows unobstructed views from the street level.
