The architectural study for the construction of the Lambraki dental clinic had some particular challenges. Within a limited capacity two separate medical rooms had to be set up, a shared reception and waiting area for adults and children had to be integrated. In addition, the formal character of the health center had to be softened giving the space intimacy, peace, and warmth.
Starting from the entrance, the wooden reception bench is in the center of the space and in direct contact with it we observe the waiting area. The walls are dominated by different textures combined with white, while the element that attracts attention is the children's corner: a place where the adolescent patients have the opportunity to relax and paint in an area designed explicitly for them.
The use of subtle colors on the walls and floors gives the feeling of cleanliness and hygiene, while emphasizing the brightness of the spaces. The coexistence of two dentists led to the construction of two separate examination rooms that are signalized by common decoration. The modern equipment is placed in suitable spots to allow the shared and unhindered use of the machines.
The result meets both our initial goal and the desire of the owners: to design a space that expresses on one hand, the vitality of the young Myrtos and on the other hand, the experience of Mr. Michalis Lambrakis.
