The traditional building is described as stone built with a vaulted roof. The aim of the study for Mrs. Petropoulou's pharmacy was to maintain and reinforce the present character. Simultaneously, we wanted to introduce the necessary architectural elements to create a modern medical specialty, functional and aesthetically pleasing. In this way we would ensure the creation of a competitive pharmacy that would consolidate the business position of the owner.
The vaulted roof bonded with the stone required a cautious approach, which our team combined with the use of materials like glass, wood and metal. The pharmacy is divided into two sections: the ground floor and the attic. Our effective cooperation with the client generated a result that matches the personal taste of the owner with the unique touch of our office.
On the ground floor are the product promotional departments as well as the laboratory, while the loft was operated as office space. To the left and right of the entrance were placed the shelves with the products, hence giving employees and customers the opportunity to more easily detect what they are looking for. A service counter is located in the center of the pharmacy to directly accommodate the wishes of customers.
At the top, the use of the glass handrail offers clarity and communication of the two levels, while at the same time issuing a modern note of difference. A particular study was also carried out for the lighting with specialized luminaires that embrace the dome of the roof. In combination with the hidden lighting in the shelves, they create an atmosphere of calm and purity. The wood is placed to the floor and the frames and is combined with the stone walls, highlighting the natural element in the space.
