The plot, of 1.5 acre, located in Episkopi in the county of Heraklio. The building, an area of 200 square meters, is the resident of a five-member family. The scale and proportions of the local architecture served as references in the composition of tumors, in a modern way and without any effort imitation. Thus, the lean, rational plan tumors composed together to create the whole. The semi-outdoor spaces and terraces, besides their functional role, complete the modeling of tumors. The location of the building was influenced both by the shape of the land and the provisions in force, and by the orientation and the view.
Downstairs, the main nucleus is the living room, around which are organized the other functions of the house. The internal space story connects the ground to the floor, creating a pleasant game of sizes and proportions. The interior balcony offers an interesting view of the living room from the floor and allows for views and light inside. Also on the ground floor is the kitchen and dining room, south, and an office , a wc and a second living room, north. The first floor accommodates the bedrooms of children and the couple, but the desired independence of the couple’s room ensured with a private bathroom and a dressing room.
For the construction of the house were used modern building materials, reinforced concrete and bricks, while wood comes to roof both side axes which accommodate the family rooms and internally for lining floors. Finally, the creation of the external walls of the property was based on the use of stone and the main bathroom was invested with marble.
