The proposal concerns the development of a plot of land with a total area of 2,300 sq.m., which is located within the area of Ag. Georgiou of the municipality of Heraklion. The plot is in a very privileged position as it has a direct unobstructed sea view along the entire length of the plot.
The study we are working on includes the design of three tourist houses for rent with an area of 210 sq.m. in total. The rest is used to design private yards for each home. The main entrance is located west of the plot. Each house is a separate house with a private entrance that offers the visitor the feeling of privacy. Morphologically we choose to use the alternation of stone walls and conventional masonry.
The uses of the house extend to two levels. On the ground floor there is an open space, kitchen - living room with a bathroom while on the first floor there are three bedrooms with balconies and another bathroom. A swimming pool has been provided in all the houses and its design is part of the surrounding area. Each courtyard has a barbeque, pergola that offers shading in the outdoor dining areas. The morphology of the soil in combination with the planting participates in the design of the yards, creating an original configuration of outdoor spaces following the logic of the rock gardens in combination with the flora of the area.
