The present operation is part of a more extensive renovation of a hotel in Stalis, which aims to create a complete complex of high standards. The architectural approach is considered to transform and fill the existing space with respect and creativity. This study focuses on the creation of a new bar and the configuration of the surrounding areas.
The initial heavy stone shell remains a key feature of the band's identity. The operation aims to highlight this element. For this reason, a new stone volume is added which accommodates the uses of the bar. The volume is completed with covered spaces, providing the functional needs of the outdoors. The scale of the masses constitutes a balanced whole in which closed and open spaces alternate.
One of the main design principles that govern the contemporary composition is the clarity of the lines at the floor level. The configuration of the external area is identified by clean axes of movement and rest. This achieves a more appropriate location of the bar functions. In combination with the elements of water, significant lighting and planting, a pleasant space is created where the visitor can enjoy his free time.
Importance has been accorded to the choice of materials and colors to harmonize the new composition with the present building and the natural landscape. Stone and wood combine with metal, achieving a bridge between the old and the new. Wood is found in all interventions, either in the form of canopies or in the configuration of the interior bar and rooms, therefore offering an aesthetic consistency. The choice of earth colors in the shade of sand, used in all areas, equally contributes to this direction.
