The formation of the spaces on an already existing concrete frame was the main challenge during the design process of Villa Skaleta. The request was to design 5 ensuite bedrooms, one communal area and the whole landscape of the plot.
Due to the long and complex shape of the concrete frame, the rooms were divided on the left and right parts of the building, while on the center one communal area is placed that has a living room, a kitchen and a dining area.
The facades were formed in order to turn the building towards the sea view, by creating a more sealed façade on the southeast side, where we find the main street and the entryways of the villas, and on the contrary adding big openings on the Northwest view, where we have the pool area. Moreover, on the Northeast part of the building a barbeque is placed, ideal for the visitors, whereas on the Southwest part a second lounge and relax area is designed. The landscaping is completed with one large kindergarten and an open gym kiosk that are being placed on the Southwest part of the plot.
Regarding the materials, we will find wood, both on the inside and outside areas, that transforms the space into a warm, welcoming area. The wooden elements are concluded by white and grey paint on the walls, that manage to bind this complex frame into a unique entity. Similarly, the furniture used both an the inside and outside areas are welcoming and transport the visitor to a small oasis.
